Shared List App is not primarily a list app. It is a simple coordination tool that helps people organise shared responsibilities and stay aligned.
The real value is not creating lists. The value is giving families, households, teams, and groups a single shared view—replacing the scattered updates in WhatsApp, Messenger, email, and group chats where responsibility becomes unclear and progress gets lost.
Built from experience
Shared List App is not a brand-new idea. It is the result of years of development and learning from Planhive, a previous shared organisation and task management platform.
Planhive explored a broad vision: shared lists, projects, workspaces, grouped organisation, and different ways of viewing and managing information. Through years of development and thousands of tasks, we learned what people actually use, where complexity helps, and where it gets in the way.
Shared List App is the distilled version of those lessons. Rather than trying to solve every organisational challenge from day one, it focuses on the core problem: helping people share lists, stay organised, and get things done together.
Simplicity here is a deliberate design choice—not a lack of features. Shared List App is a focused product built from experience, designed around what people actually use when coordinating with others.
Looking ahead
As Shared List App grows, selected concepts explored in Planhive—such as multi-list views, grouped lists, and richer organisation structures—may return in future web-based power-user features, but only when they add genuine value.
For now, the focus is on being fast, clear, and easy to adopt: shared lists first, with more advanced concepts introduced only when they earn their place.
